French onion soup

Makes 1.5 Liters (6 small servings)

1 tbsp butter
3 Large Onions
1 tbsp Flour
1 tsp Sugar
2 tbsp beef broth powder in 9 cups of water
½ cup Port
½ cup Wine
Slice onions in half (top to bottom) then slice each half
Saute in butter till translucent
Mix in Flour and Sugar and sauté a little longer
Add broth and water Simmer for 1 hour
Add port and wine Simmer for 2 hours or until desired strength is reached (1.5 liters).
It takes longer for multiple batches.
